One of my favorites from this project. Mike, Steve, Andy and Paul are artists!
A track from a studio project who's intent was always
MORE TRACKS!
This group of guys worked harder than any I've had the pleasure. Near and dear to my soul.
The "Demo Den" is full and at the urging of some folks, I'll be loading this up little-by-little with tunes written over the past 40 years, recorded in "no tellin" places on "who knows" DAWs and equipment. If you hear yourself on any of these tunes PLEASE say hi so I can credit you!
Take a little trip, take a little trip with me...
The year is 1996 - the jams were heavy and the nights were long!
Recorded in 2007 in the wee hours of the night in the cavernous historic offices of Elevation Creative Studios, the branding & design studio where I was a partner. I was told we were named Elevation when one of my partners saw U2 live. Seemed fitting to record something there. My mate on the project was Lyle Van Outter and DAMN, he can make an acoustic guitar sound like angles.
Recorded by Mike Lenihan - Mike, Erik Shields and I insnared several great players like Lyle Van Outter on keys this time.
We had all become enamored by Steven Wilson's post-Porcupine Tree work and decided to give prog a go.
These songs mean a great deal to me now.
DW&TRS was one of the most rewarding projects ever. The talent level and work ethic was remarkable. I would never have these songs the way they were meant without Mike. Bobby, Brad, Curtis and Brandon.
Never have I encountered a situation like this! Four of the best players I have ever had the chance to create with and creation was all this was. Their improvisational virtuosity set the groove and all I had to do was add lyric and melody. The fevers were so hot, this release includes several songs never played a second time. You hear our live, spur-of-the-moment flow just as it fell out and on to disc!
